Royal Opera House Announces Cast Change for ‘Faust’
By Francisco SalazarThe Royal Opera House has announced a cast change for its production of “Faust.”
The company said, “Lisette Oropesa has withdrawn from all performances of Faust due to personal reasons.”
As a result, “The role of Marguerite will be performed by Carolina López Moreno, who makes her Royal Opera debut.”

She made her London debut when she stepped in at late notice with the London Symphony Orchestra’s 2024 concert performance of “La Rondine” under the baton of Antonio Pappano. She has also performed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Teatro Caro Felice, the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, and the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
Moreno joins a cast that includes Stefan Pop, Erwin Schrott, Boris Pinkhasovich, and Hongni Wu. Maurizio Benini conducts the production by David McVicar. The production opens on May 23 and runs through June 10, 2025.
