The Royal Danish Opera has announced a cast change for its Sept. 1, 2023 performance of Verdi’s “Aida.”

The company said that Judit Kutasi will sing the role of Amneris replacing Nora Sourouzian.

Kutasi also took to social media and said, “Jumping in tonight as Amneris at the Royal Danish Opera in their production of Aida! Didn’t think will be so soon my return but I’m very excited to be here!”

Kutasi recently performed the Verdi Requiem with the Royal Danish Opera on August 25, 2023. She recently performed the role of Amneris at the Bayerische Staatsoper and this season she is set to make her Metropolitan Opera debut in “La Forza del Destino.”

For the “Aida performance, the mezzo joins a cast that includes Miriam Clark, Hovhannes Ayvazyan, and Jens Søndergaard. Paolo Carignani conducts.
