
Royal Ballet and Opera Announces Cast Change for ‘Aida’
By Francisco SalazarThe Royal Ballet and Opera has announced a cast change for its production of Verdi’s “Aida.”
The company said that Raehann Bryce-Davis will replace the originally announced Ekaterina Semenchuk.
For her part, Bryce-Davis took to social media and said, “Aaaand, it’s official! I’ll be jumping into a run of Aida at the Royal Ballet and Opera singing my beloved Amneris. This will mark my house debut in London and a massive dream come true. Opening night is January 28 and it will run until February 12. Hope to see you there!”
Bryce-Davis has performed the role of Amneris at the Oper im Steinbruch, Royal Danish Opera, and Bayerische Staatsoper to great acclaim.
She is set to join a cast that includes Anna Pirozzi, Riccardo Massi, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, and Alexander Köpeczi. Daniel Oren conducts the production by Robert Carsen.
