
Royal Academy of Music Unveils 2026 Season
By David SalazarThe Royal Academy of Music has unveiled its 2026 slate. Here is a breakdown of vocal performances only.
First up is “Orfeo ed Euridice” starring Ella Orehek-Coddington, Julia Kumlin, and Anna Lluna-Aguilar. The chorus features Jessica Kneeshaw, Leoni Malewezi, Matilda Hazell, Phoebe Edwards, Louis Pettit, Josie McEvey, Amelie Mack, Georgiana Roe, Rachel Simone Best-Babayeju. Nika Kožar conducts and Anna Lluna-Aguilar and Ella Orehek-Coddington are co-directors.

Mezzo-soprano Dolary Gill plays cello and sings alongside pianist Daniel Liu i a program featuring works by Zoe Martlew, Luca Zucchi, Dove, Sarah Henderson, and Gorecki.

Baritone Ian Gillis directs and performs in “Declaration of the Firmament,” a program by composer Emma Clark featuring works by Dvorak and Clark Zapovit Nebes. Mezzo-soprano Maria Kolpaktchi sings and assistant directs while Max Levtskyi conducts the Lihtar Orchestra.

Soprano Gabrielle Guiho, harpist Alice Mizelli, and composer Billy Ainsworth join forces for “Lettres d’Amour.” The program includes works by Caplet, Grandjany, Renard, Tournier, and Ainsworth, among others.

“Witchcraft” will feature an ensemble of vocalists, including Eva Swiderski, Anastasija Stanojevic, Aitzi Cofré Real, Sylvie Noble and flutist Lara Aisha Ali. The showcase is choreographed by Roísín Salmon.

Soprano Madeleine Perring, tenor Woogyeom Kim, and baritone Aksel Rykkvin headline “From this Day Forward.” They are joined by pianists Alfred Fardell, Quan Gu, and Ben Markovic in a program of works by Wolf, Duparc, and Strauss.

There will be an opera scenes program directed by David Antrobus.

Bass-baritone Jaehong Kim and tenor Samuel Mills will perform alongside pianist Ziteng Fan in a program that includes Schumann’s “Dichterliebe” and Brahms’ “Fünf Lieder.”

Händel’s “Rinaldo” will get performances directed by Julia Burbach and conducted by David Bates.

“Opera Makers” will be directed by Sophie Daneman.

The Academy Baroque Soloists, under director Eamonn Dougan, will perform works by Purcell in “And Again I Say, Rejoice.”

The Academy Baroque Soloists, under director Elizabeth Kenny, will perform works by Dowland and Gibbons in a program called “A Play of Passion.”

Laurence Cummings wil direct Purcell’s “King Arthur.”
