Romain Gilbert Joins Hilbert Artists Management

French director Romain Gilbert has joined Hilbert Artists Management for management.

Gilbert recently directed a production of “La Gioconda” at Teatro San Carlo and is set to revive it at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

He has directed major opera productions such as “Carmen” in Rouen, Versailles, Hong Kong, Hanoi, Athens, and Dallas, as well as “Werther” in Bordeaux and “La Périchole” in Salzburg and Versailles. His work has also been presented on stages including the Teatro Real Madrid and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.

The 2025-26 season will see him direct “Die Zauberflöte” across Bremen, Dortmund, Hamburg, and Bucharest, and a highly anticipated “Carmen” at The Dallas Opera.

Gilbert studied piano and opera singing at the Paris Conservatoire before transitioning to engineering and ultimately pursuing artistic and cultural management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology and a Master’s degree in Music Management from the University of Paris–La Sorbonne.He began his career as Administrator of the Friends of the Paris Opera, a position he held for ten years.
