Rolando Villazón Postpones Two Recitals

Rolando Villazón has canceled two upcoming appearances in Dortmund and Paris.

The Konzarthaus Dortmund and Les Grand Voix series announced that due to a recent gastroenterological surgery, the tenor was forced to postpone the concerts. In a press release both concert houses announced that the concerts will be postponed for later dates.

The Dortmund concert will now take place on April 11, 2019 and the Paris concert will be moved to May 14, 2019.

As previously programmed, the concerts will still feature songs by Manuel De Falla, Obradors, Guastavino, Ginastera, and Revueltas.

Villazón’s is next scheduled to perform in Salzburg and in a revival of “Don Giovanni” at the Wiener Staatsoper. He also makes appearances in Köln and Frankfurt and directs a new production of Rameau’s “Platée” at the Semperoper Dresden.
