Robin Ticciati to Leave Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in 2025

By Francisco Salazar

Robin Ticciati is set to leave his post as Chief Conductor of the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin during the 2024-25 season.

The conductor will leave after eight years, a period that surpasses his three predecessors – Kent Nagano, Ingo Metzmacher, and Tugan Sokhiev.

Ticciati began his term in 2017 and has performed a wide range of repertoire ranging from baroque works with original gut strings to free improvisation on stage. He has attempted to give the orchestra flexibility in experimenting.

The conductor is currently the Music Director of the Glyndebourne Festival Opera and was the Principal Conductor of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra from 2009-18. He has conducted at the Royal Opera, Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, and Salzburg Festival, and is a regular guest with the London Philharmonic.
