
Robin Norton-Hale’s ‘La Bohème’ Film to Hit Cinemas on March 3
By David SalazarPuccini’s “La Bohème” will hit UK cinemas on March 3, 2026, in a striking new film adaptation set in present-day East London.
The work was reimagined by writer and director Robin Norton-Hale, who is also Artistic Director and CEO of English Touring Opera and the founder of OperaUpClose, and stars Scottish tenor Matthew in his breakout feature film debut as Rodolfo, opposite Lucy Hall’s Mimì. The cast also features Benson Wilson as Marcello, Julia Mariko as Musetta, Mark Nathan as Schaunard, and Edward Jowle as Colline, alongside Pauls Putnins, Nicholas Morris, and Ruth D’Silva.
Music Director and Conductor Alice Farnham leads a new interpretation of Puccini’s score with orchestration by Jonathan Dove. The team includes sound designer Ben Baird, editor Sylvie Landra, cinematographer Jack Edwards, and production designer Hannah McCulley.
The film is produced by Finite Films & TV founder Amy Gardner.
