Robert Garner, Zoya Gramagin, Robert Mellon, Karen Kanaakis, Debby Lennon Headline Union Avenue Opera’s 2022 Season

Union Avenue Opera has announced its 2022 summer lineup.

The St. Louis, MO-based company will open its festival season with Tchaikovsky’s “Eugene Onegin.” The famed work will star Robert Garner in the title role, Zoya Gramagin as Tatiana, William Davenport as Lensky, and Melissa Wilson as Olga. Other cast members include Victoria Carmichael, Debbie Stinson, Andrew W. Potter, Marc Schapman, and Benjamin Worley.

Scott Schoonover conducts a production directed by Octavio Cardenas.

Performance Dates: July 8-16, 2022

Robert Mellon, Karen Kanaakis, Jacob Lassetter, Brooklyn Snow, Jesse Darden, Janara Kellerman, Melody Wilson, Clark Sturdevant, Mark Freiman, and Anthony Heinemann star in Verdi’s “Falstaff.” Stephen Hargreaves conducts with Jon Truitt directing.

Performance Dates: July 29- August 6, 2022

The season will conclude with Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music,” directed by Annamaria Pileggi and conducted by Scott Schoonover. The cast stars Debby Lennon, Peter Kendall Clark, Eric J. McConnell, Leann Schuering, Teresa Goddett, Brooklyn Snow, James Stevens, Amy Maude Helfer, Arielle Pedersen, Gina Malone, Grace Yukiko Fisher, Sarah Price, Philip Touchette, Joel Rogier, and Jordan Wolk.

Performance Dates: August 19-27, 2022

Opera in the Garden

Additionally, the company will present a series of recitals as part of its “Opera in the Garden” series. First up will be Gina Malone and Danielle Yilmaz.

Next up, Sarah Price, Mark Freiman, and Nancy Mayo join forces with Erica Ancell for a special concert, which includes Schubert’s “Auf dem Strom D. 943.”

Performance Dates: May 22, 2022

The recital series ends with a concert featuring Grace Yukiko, Philip Touchette, Nancy Mayo, and Madalyn Tomkins.
