‘Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny’ to Make Teatro Regio di Parma Debut
By Francisco Salazar‘Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny” is set to be presented at the Teatro Regio di Parma.
The Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht will be performed for the first time at the Parma theater and will be presented from April 28 through April 30 closing the 2022 season.
The new production which is a co-production with the Fondazione I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, will be directed by Henning Brockhaus with set design by Margherita Palli and lighting design by Pasquale Mari. Costumes will be by Giancarlo Colis while video projections will be created by Mario Spinaci. Finally, Valentina Escobar will be in charge of choreography.
Christopher Franklin will conduct the Orchestra dell’Emilia-Romagna “Arturo Toscanini” e del Coro del Teatro Regio di Parma and the cast will include Christopher Lemmings, Alisa Kolosova, Chris Merritt, Zoltan Nagy, Anne-Marie Kremer, Tobias Hächler, Horst Lamnek, Jerzy Butryn, Roxana Herrera, Elizabeth Hertzberg, Yuliia Tkachenko, Cecilia Bernini, Kamelia Kader, Mariangela Marini, and Filippo Lanzi.
