By David Salazar

The Richmond Symphony has named Hae Lee to the position of Associate Conductor. He is also the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra Conductor. He will commence his new position in July 2024.

He takes over for Chia-Hsuan Lin, who served in the position of Associate Conductor for seven years, and for Daniel Myssyk who is also completing his tenure at the helm of the Richard Symphony Youth Orchestra. He joins an artistic team that features Valentina Peleggi as Music Director.

“I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful Richmond family,” said Hae Lee in an official press statement issued by the company. “I not only loved the fantastic sound of the orchestra when I visited, but also the warm and welcoming atmosphere. I enjoyed working with the talented young musicians of the Youth Orchestra as well. I am looking forward to working with the wonderful Valentina Peleggi and everyone else in this community.”

Hae Lee has worked with such organizations as the Orchestre National d’Île-de-France, Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne, Orchestre Victor Hugo, and Orchestra Sinfonica città di Grosseto, among others.
