Riccardo Frizza, Daniela Barcelona, Juan Jesús Rodríguez Win Big at Tutto Verdi International Awards

The Tutto Verdi International Awards has announced its 2023 winners.

Taking home the prize for best conductor was Riccardo Frizza. Best Stage Direction went to Emilio Sagi while Daniela Barcelona won for Best Female singer for her work in “Il Trovatore.” Best Male singer went to Juan Jesús Rodríguez.

Pier Luigi Pizzi was given an award for career achievement for stage directing while baritone Leo Nucci was given a career achievement award for a singer. Fundación BBVA was given the prize for best institution. The Bilbao Opera Chorus also received a special prize.

The event also featured performances by such artists as Davide Tuscano, Alessia Panzo, Gabriel Alonso, and Fan Zhou who took on music from Verdi’s “Il Trovatore,” “La Traviata,” “Ernani,” “I Lombardi alla prima crociata,” and “I Masnadieri,” among others.
