
Resonance Works to Perform ‘The Little Prince’
By Francisco SalazarResonance Works has announced an upcoming production of Rachel Portman’s “The Little Prince” on Nov. 22, 2024 and Nov. 24, 2024.
The performances will be held at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall in Carnegie, PA.
Based on the classic book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, the work will feature 12-year-old America’s Got Talent star Victory Brinker in the title role. She will be joined by baritone Daniel Teadt, Timothi Williams as The Fox, Lara Lynn McGill as The Water, Graham Fandrei as The Businessman, Donovan Smith as The Lamplighter, and multi-hyphenate Robert Frankenberry as The Snake and The Vain Man.
The cast will also include soprano Adrianna Cleveland as The Rose, bass-baritone Adam Cioffari as The King, and baritone Rick Hale as The Drunkard.
In a statement Artistic & General Director Maria Sensi Sellner said, “I first read the book in French class in school, and it is a special work that sticks with you, revealing deeper levels of meaning as you bring more life experience to it. Portman’s operatic treatment of this beloved story is stunning, mystical, and hopeful. Every time I open the score, I cannot help but have a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. I cannot wait to share this production with our Pittsburgh audiences.”
“The Little Prince” will be presented in partnership with the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus, and will be directed by Keturah Stickann.
