Resonance Works Announces 2024-25 Season

Resonance Works has announced its 2024-25 season celebrating its 12th season

In a statement, Founder and Artistic & General Director, Maria Sensi Sellner said, “Our 2024/25 season reflects what Resonance Works is all about: intentional programming that invites people from all walks of life to enjoy classical music in new ways that engage, delight, and surprise them. This is music that deserves to be heard, and we can’t wait for our audiences to experience this season.”

The season opens with Reson8 Vocal Octet which will feature some of the finest singers in the region. The concert will feature music from J.S. Bach and Aaron Copland to contemporary masterpieces by Reena Esmail, David Lang, and Stephen Sondheim.

Performance Dates: Sept. 22, 2024, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Shadyside and Sept. 29, 2024 at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church.

Rachel Portman’s “The Little Prince” will be performed in a production by stage director Keturah Stickann. Maria Sensi Sellner conducts a cast that includes Victory Brinker in the title role and baritone Daniel Teadt as The Pilot. the ensemble cast also features Timothi Williams, Adrianna Cleveland, Lara Lynn McGill, Robert Frankenberry, Graham Fandrei, and Donovan Smith.

Performance Dates: Nov. 22 & 24 2024 at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library and Music Hall in Carnegie, PA.

The company will present “Dwell Together,” which was created in partnership with esteemed choral conductor and founder of The Heritage Gospel Chorale of Pittsburgh, Dr. Herbert V.R.P. Jones, celebrated mezzo-soprano and Resonance Works board member Demareus Cooper, Artistic and General Director Maria Sensi Sellner, and Associate Producer Robert Frankenberry.

Performance Dates: March 7, 2025 in Oakland & March 9, 2025 at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church

Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” will be performed in a production by Malena Dayen. The cast will include Katy Lindhart in the title role alongside Tahanee Aluwihare, Hidenori Inoue, and Omar Najmi. Artistic & General Director Maria Sensi Sellner conducts.

Performance Dates: May 16 & 18, 2025at the Charity Randall Theatre in Oakland.
