In an effort to protect human rights amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights has joined together with Renée Fleming for a charity auction hosted via CharityBuzz.

The winner of the auction will have a half-hour meet-and-greet conversation with the renowned soprano over Zoom.

The aims of the organization include providing bail assistance to people in pre-trial and immigration detention at risk of the virus, providing human rights education to millions of online students through virtual lesson plans featuring healthcare workers such as Dr. Fauci, and advocating towards the furthering of economic and racial justice.

Fleming’s participation comes as the latest public health initiative the soprano has undertaken.

Her online “Music and Mind LIVE” series has featured a number of prominent figures in the fields of health, music, psychology, and well-being. The series was launched in May and was inspired by Fleming’s work in her role of Artistic Advisor to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
