Renée Fleming Named Artist Development Advisor at Wolf Trap

The Wolf Trap Foundation has announced that soprano Renée Fleming will join Wolf Trap Opera as Artist Development Advisor for a three-year term.

The soprano will bring her bold vision and passion to Wolf Trap’s world-renowned program for emerging opera talent.

In a statement, Lee Anne Myslewski, Vice President of Opera and Classical Programming said, “Wolf Trap Opera has long been a launching pad for some of opera’s brightest stars. This season we are honored to have Renée Fleming join the program and help shape the future of opera at Wolf Trap.”

In the role, Fleming will enhance WTO’s training programs with more immersive training, seamlessly blending performance opportunities with mentorship. Over the next three years, she will launch a series of initiatives that reflect her commitment to developing rising artists.

Over her new position, Fleming noted, “One of the most rewarding things about opera and classical music is the tradition of each generation nurturing the next group of rising artists. I am delighted to be expanding my mentorship of young singers with a new role at Wolf Trap Opera (WTO),” said Renée Fleming, Artistic Development Advisor for Wolf Trap Opera. “Each summer, the WTO program attracts some of the most gifted young vocalists in the world, and I am looking forward helping these phenomenally talented singers grow and develop their artistry.”
