Renée Fleming and Evgeny Kissin have canceled their Paris recital scheduled for March 19, 2020.

In a statement from the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, the theater announced that Fleming and Kissin will not perform due to government regulations that only allow 1,000 guests or less to congregate in a public space. As a result only part of their fans would be able to see the concert.

Fleming and Kissin are scheduled to continue their tour in April in Michigan, New York, Boston, and Chicago.

On March 9, the French government implemented regulations that banned events with over 1,000 people amid coronavirus fears. A number of French theaters opted to cancel performances at the Opéra de Paris and the Philhamonie de Paris.

However, others like the Opéra de Bordeaux, Opéra de Lille and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées have continued to perform.
