Renée Fleming, Betty Garcés to Headline Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo’s 2023 Season
By David SalazarThe Teatro Julio Mario Santo Domingo has unveiled its 2023 programming.
For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal and operatic performances.
First up is Pedro Salazar’s production of “Tosca” featuring conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada.
Performance Dates: Feb. 24 & 26, 2023
That will be followed by the “VI Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Bogotá: Bogotá es Francia, la Belle Époque” which will feature music by Debussy, Ravel, Boulanger, Saint-Saëns, Fauré, and Lili Cécile Chaminade. Among the soloists is Colombian soprano Betty Garcés.
Performance Dates: April 5 – 8, 2023
Soprano Renée Fleming will perform a concert.
Performance Dates: June 14, 2023
There will also be a performance of “Carmina Burana” by Colombian ensemble “L’Explose.”
