Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition Announces 2025 Winners

The Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition has announced its 2025 winners.

The first prize and critics’ choice went to Uruguayan countertenor Maximiliano Danta. He will also get a chance to perform at the Opéra Royal – Château de Versailles Spectacles, which was offered by the president of the jury.

Czech Countertenor Vojtěch Pelka won second prize as well as the audience prize. Meanwhile, Italian mezzo-soprano Ester Ferraro won third prize.

Armenian soprano Arpi Sinanyan won the Soroptimist Club prize.

Finalists also included Israeli countertenor Lidor Ram Mesika and Korean soprano Younji Yi.

The finals were held at the Teatro Titano on Sept. 27 and were presented by Mario Acampa.

The jury included Laurent Brunner (Opéra Royal – Château de Versailles Spectacles); Daniele Borniquez (Accademia del Teatro alla Scala), Georg Lang (Bayreuth Baroque Opera), Dominik Licht (Salzburg Festival; Royal Danish Opera), Cristiano Sandri (Teatro Regio di Torino), Sebastian F. Schwarz (OperaEuropa, OperaVision; Concorso internazionale di canto per l’opera barocca Pietro Antonio Cesti), and Eva-Maria Sens (Festowochen der Alten Musik di Innsbruck).
