Regina Opera Announces Production of ‘The Student Prince’

Regina Opera is set to present “The Student Prince” this May at the Our Lady Perpetual Help School Auditorium in Brooklyn, NY.

The production will be conducted by Gregory Ortega and directed by Linda Lehr. The work will be presented in English with English supertitles for musical numbers.

Performances kick off on May 13 with additional shows on the 14th, 20th, and 21st.

“The Student Prince” was composed by Sigmund Romberg with the book and lyrics by Dorothy Donnelly. The work premiered on Dec. 2, 1924 on Broadway.

The company recently announced its 53rd anniversary gala which will feature sopranos Brooke Schooley and Tate Chu, tenors Paolo Buffagni and Percy Martinez, baritone Brian Montgomery, pianist Catherine Miller, and flutist Richard Paratley. The event is set to take place on April 30, 2023, also at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Academy.
