
Regents Opera to Open New Season with Mahler’s Symphony No. 2
By David SalazarRegents Opera is set to present Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 “Resurrection” on Oct. 5, 2025 at the Great Hall, Blackheath Halls.
The showcase will kick off the company’s new season. Soloists include Catharine Woodward and Mae Heydorn. They are joined by the Regents Opera Orchestra and a chorus of 100 singers, including members of the English Arts Chorale.

“It’s been a dream of mine to conduct the Mahler 2. It is the ideal piece to showcase Regents Opera’s rebirth after our celebrated Ring Cycle – with its theme of resurrection, opening our new season feels like the perfect time and occasion to take on this spectacular work,” said Ben Woodward in an official press statement.
The program also includes a performance of Wagner’s “Siegfried Idyll.”
