On Dec. 24, 2025, the Teatro alla Scala’s 2025 Christmas Concert will be broadcast in Italy on Rai 1 and RaiPlay.

The concert, which was performed on Dec. 20, features Lorenzo Viotti conducting the Orchestra and Chorus of Teatro alla Scala, alongside soloists Krassimira Stoyanova, Julien Behr and Markus Eiche.

The program opened with the orchestral suite from “Les Animaux modèles” by Francis Poulenc, the composer’s last ballet, inspired by the fables of Jean de La Fontaine. This was followed by Charles Gounod’s “Messe solennelle de Sainte-Cécile,” first performed in 1855, with which the composer moves away from the theatrical model in search of a more contemplative dimension, inspired by Gregorian chant and by a spirituality marked by clarity and restraint.

The concert will also be broadcast in Germany on Dec. 23 and Denmark on Dec. 24, 2025.
