Portland Opera Announces Resident Artist Virtual Recital Series

By Nicolas Quiroga

The Portland Opera has announced its Resident Artist Virtual Recital Series in 2021.

Each performance will be one hour long and will be broadcast from the Hampton Opera Center, at no cost to the public and with no registration required.

Soprano Lynnesha Crump and tenor David Morgans Sanchez will take the stage on Jan. 28, 2021 followed by mezzo-soprano Jasmine Johnson and baritone Michael Parham on Feb. 11, 2021. Finally, bass Edwin Jahmal Davis and the entire ensemble of Resident Artists will perform on Feb. 25, 2021.

The performances will feature solo pieces, duets, and ensembles from artists as they perform alongside Resident Artists Coach and pianist  Joseph Williams.

Although the presentations will not feature live audiences, performers will be reviewed by the company’s doctors and will follow rigorous biosecurity and testing protocols, to ensure a safe environment for all.

Performances will be live-streamed on the company’s official Youtube and Vimeo channels.
