The Polish National Opera has announced a celebration of Moniuszko’s 202nd birthday.

The celebration will begin with a Concert Moniuszko and One Thousand and One Nights. The recording will premiere on vod.teatrwielki.pl on May 5 and will feature Maria Pomianowska’s creative arrangements of both well-known and newly discovered Moniuszko pieces.

The opera house will also present a 2019 gala starring Ewa Tracz, Urszula Kryger, Jakub Józef Orliński, Rafał Bartmiński, and more. The Orchestra of the Polish National Opera was conducted by Tadeusz Kozłowski. The concert will be available on vod.teatrwielki.pl from May 5 to 9.

There will also be a new episode of the blog In an Opera Voice and will feature a conversation about the composer and unknown facts of his works and his life.
