Podcast ‘Opera Stories – Speaking Personally’ Now Available on YouTube

The podcast, “Opera Stories – Speaking Personally,” which documents baritone Louis Quilico and pianist Christina Petrowska Quilico in conversation, is now available on YouTube.

Listeners will hear Quilico and his wife, the celebrated pianist Christina Petrowska Quilico discuss their teaching videos and book, “Mr. Rigoletto: In conversation with Louis Quilico.” In this book, he shared his views on singing, on opera, and on his signature role, Rigoletto – which he performed over five hundred time. He also talked about his own personally devised vocal techniques, sharing them with a new generation of singers.

The baritone performed at Covent Garden, the Paris Opera, the Bolshoi and the Vienna Staatsoper, and appeared on stage at the Metropolitan Opera nearly three hundred times over twenty-five consecutive years. He sang alongside other greats like Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jon Vickers, José Carreras, Joan Sutherland, Renata Tebaldi, Renata Scotto, and Beverly Sills.

The first episode, “Louis Quilico and Christina Petrowska Quilico speak in candid conversations about opera and voice” is now available for both listening and viewing. The 23-episode series is hosted by Peter Tiefenbach.
