Plácido Domingo has recorded the theme song for the Virtuosos V4+.
Domingo conducted the Orchestra of the Hungarian State Opera in a new theme composed by his son Plácido Domingo Jr.
During the session, the 1st movement of Grieg’s Concerto in A minor was also recorded with soloist Soma Balázs-Piri, the talent show’s winner from 2018.
The Virtuosos is a unique classical talent show, where only preparedness and qualifications count. All contestants play at least one classical music instrument at promisingly high standards or render remarkable and extraordinary performances in classical singing.
The program is broadcasted on Hungarian Duna Television.
Domingo recently received a lifetime achievement award in Salzburg and is slated to perform in Napoli and Verona this month.
