Plácido Domingo, Mirella Freni, Anna Netrebko Headline La Scala’s Streaming Options This Week (April 20-26)

The Teatro alla Scala has announced its upcoming opera streams via Raiplay and Rai5.

On Monday, April 20, the company will present Mozart’s “Lucio Silla” on Raiplay with Kresimir Spicer, Lenneke Ruiten, Marianne Crebassa, Inga Kalna, and Giulia Semenzato. On that same day, Verdi’s “Giovanna d’Arco” will be presented on Rai5 with Anna Netrebko, Francesco Meli, Carlos Álvarez, and Dmitry Beloselskiy.

Lucio Silla” will air again on April 21 on Rai5, as will “I Due Foscari,” starring Renato Bruson, Alberto Cupido, and Linda Roark-Strummer.

April 22 brings “Così fan tutte” and “Andrea Chénier,” both on Rai5. The former, a performance from 2014, features Maria Bengtsson, Katija Dragojevic, Rolando Villazón, and Michele Pertusi. The latter, from 2017-18,  is headlined by Anna Netrebko, Yusif Eyvazov, Luca Salsi, and Annalisa Stroppa.

On Thursday, audiences can check out “La Fanciulla del West” from 2016 and “Fedora” from 1993. The former stars Barbara Haveman, Roberto Aronica, Claudio Sgura, and Carlo Bosi, while the Giordano work stars Mirella Freni, Placido Domingo, Alessandro Corbelli, and Adelina Scarabelli.

To finish off the week, audiences can check out Puccini and Poulenc masterworks. “Tosca,” from 2019-20, stars Anna Netrebko, Francesco Meli, and Luca Salsi. It will be broadcast on Friday. “Dialogues des Carmélites,” from 2004, stars Dagmar Schellenberger, Christopher Robertson, Anja Silja, Elisabete Matos, and Laura Aikin. This will be showcased on Sunday.
