
Pittsburgh Opera to Present ‘Time to Act’
By Francisco SalazarPittsburgh Opera’s is set to present “Time to Act” Laura Kaminsky and Crystal Manich.
The work, which will be performed between Feb. 28 and March 8, is set in present-day America with a group of high school students who prepare for a production of Sophocles’ “Antigone,” and a new student, Alona, who comes with a formidable secret that is revealed after being triggered by a school safety drill.
The opera is the company’s fifth world premiere in the past decade and will star Timothi Williams, Erik Nordstrom, Shannon Crowley, Logan Wagner, and Yazid Gray.
Michael Sakir conducts the production by Crystal Manich.
The opera will be performed at the Bitz Opera Factory, Strip District and will be performed with no intermission.
