Pittsburgh Opera to Present ‘Proving Up’

Pittsburgh Opera is set to present Missy Mazzoli’s “Proving Up,” an opera that explores the elusiveness of the American Dream through a family of 1870s Nebraskan homesteaders.

The performance will mark the first-ever in Pittsburgh and the work will be performed at The Bitz Opera Factory.

James Lesniak will conduct the production by Haley Stamats.

The cast will include Fran Daniel Laucerica, Emily Richter, Brandon Bell, Julia Swan Laird, Jazmine Olwalia, and Evan Lazdowski.

“Proving Up” is set to be presented four times between Feb. 17 and 25, 2024.
