Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale Announces 2026-27 Season Featuring Nicholas Phan, Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen & Nicole Heaston

Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale has announced its 2026-27 season celebrating its 45th season. Here are the vocal performances.

Handel’s “Tolomeo” will be conducted by Peter Whelan and will star countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen as Tolomeo, soprano Lauren Snouffer as Seleuce, soprano Nicole Heaston as Elisa, countertenor Kangmin Justin Kim as Alessandro, and bass-baritone Dashon Burton as Araspe.

Performance Dates: July 23-24, 2026 in San Francisco and Berkeley


Händel’s “The Power of Music” will feature the U.S. premiere of the critically acclaimed 1742 Dublin version of Handel’s “Alexander’s Feast (The Power of Music).”

Music Director Peter Whelan leads the performance, featuring soprano Sherezade Panthaki, mezzo-soprano Rachael Wilson, tenor James Way, and the Philharmonia Chorale under the direction of Valérie Sainte-Agathe.

Performance Dates: Nov. 11-14, 2026 in Stanford, San Francisco, and Berkeley


Haydn’s “The Creation” will star Lucy Crowe, Nicholas Phan, and Enrico Lagasca, accompanied by the
Philharmonia Chorale under the direction of Valérie Sainte-Agathe.

Performance Dates: April 9-11, 2027 in San Francisco, Berkeley, and Stanford
