The Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center have been hit with a cyber-attack.

The organization wrote on its website stating, “the Philadelphia Orchestra and Kimmel Center, Inc., has experienced a cyber incident that has temporarily impacted our network systems.”

The company continued, “as we work to resolve this issue, we assure patrons that all performances on Campus will proceed as planned and our security protocols are working as intended to protect sensitive data. Our websites will be updated regularly.”

As a result, tickets to select campus performances occurring in the coming weeks will be available via the company’s temporary portal.

This is the latest cyber-attack in the classical music industry. Last December the Metropolitan Opera experienced an attack that left the website and its system down for weeks. Yannick Nézet-Séguin is the music director at both the Metropolitan Opera and Philadelphia Orchestra where he recently signed a recent contract extension.
