PBS Announces Metropolitan Opera Great Performance Schedule

PBS has announced the schedule for Season 16 of Great Performances at the Met.

The season will begin on Feb. 6 with Stephen Wadsworth’s production of Mussorgsky’s “Boris Godunov” and will be followed by Matthew Aucoin’s new adaptation of “Eurydice” (March 6).

“Fire Shut Up in My Bones” will be presented on April 1,  followed by Laurent Pelly’s staging of Massenet’s “Cendrillon” (May 8), with an all-new English translation.

The season will also see “Rigoletto” (June 17), “Ariadne Auf Naxos” (July 3), the original five-act French version of Verdi’s “Don Carlos” (August 7), Puccini’s “Turandot” (Sept. 4), Simon Stone’s new staging of “Lucia Di Lammermoor” (Oct. 2), and Brett Dean’s adaptation of “Hamlet” (November 6) broadcast on PBS.

Among the broadcast hosts will be Angel Blue, Renée Fleming, Anthony Roth Costanzo, and Audra McDonald.
