Pasadena Chorale Presents One-Night-Only Concert With New Music by Dr. Zanaida Robles, Juhi Bansal, & Amy Gordon

Los Angeles-based, female composers will be featured on Pasadena Chorale’s one-night-only concert, “Brahms and Beyond.”

These composers include Dr. Zanaida Robles, Juhi Bansal, and Amy Gordon, as well as Pasadena Chorale Executive and Artistic Director Jeffrey Bernstein and Pasadena Chorale member Kevin Hartnett. This will be the three female composers’ music debut with Pasadena Chorale.

The program also consists of choral works by Johannes Brahms, who is an inspiration for the new music by Gordon, Bansal, and Robles.

“Johannes Brahms worked with choirs throughout his life and composed a lot of popular and enduring choral music,” notedPasadena Chorale Executive and Artistic Director Jeffrey Bernstein in an official press statement issued by the company. “The Pasadena Chorale enjoys exploring the cornerstones of the standard choral repertoire as inspirations for the work of modern composers.”

“Brahms and Beyond” will take place on May 6 at 7:30 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Pasadena.
