On Sept. 16, Grace Bumbry is set to receive a tribute from an entire community in Teatro Van Westerhout in Mola di Bari.

In association with Agìmus, Palazzo Pesce will present the ceremony in honor of Grace Bumbry and the closing concert by students of the Advanced Masterclass for opera singers.

In the opera recital, the students of the masterclass given by Bumbry, accompanied on the piano by Vincenzo Cicchelli, will demonstrate what they have learned from the American artist on specific aspects of interpretation and technique.

The evening will begin with the handover of the “Keys to the City” by the mayor of Mola di Bari, Giuseppe Colonna, and the councilor for Culture, Angelo Rotolo, to Grace Bumbry.

Over the past years, Bumbry has given courses and masterclasses all over the world. This year, the legend accepted the invitation to give this masterclass at the noble palace in Mola di Bari which, with Margerita Rotondi as artistic director, has become an outstanding meeting place for some of the leading singers and teachers on the international opera scene.
