Palau de les Arts Cancels all Performances of ‘La Verbena de la Paloma’

The Palau de les Arts in Valencia, Spain has canceled all “La Verbena de la Paloma” performances.

The company said, “The functions of ‘La Verbena de la Paloma,’ scheduled for November 6 and 8, are suspended. Ticket holders will be contacted, and a refund of the import will be processed.

The company had originally canceled the first two performances due to the tragedy caused by historic flooding and was set to perform the final two performances.

José Miguel Pérez Sierra was set to conduct and Nuria Castejón was set to direct. The production was also set to star Emilio Sánchez, Jorge Rodríguez-Norton, Borja Quiza, Milagros Martín, Carmen Romeu, Ana San martín, Gurutze Beitia, Aroa Fernández, Rafa Castejón, Ricardo Reguera, Nuria Pérez, Alberto Frías, Adrián Quiñones, Ariel Carmona, Mitxel Santamarina, Ana Goya, Albert Díaz, Cristina Arias, María Ángeles Fernández, and Esther Ruiz.

According to reports the horrific flash floods in Valencia have killed at least 205 people, with 202 of those in the hardest-hit region of Valencia. The death toll is expected to rise as emergency workers rescue those still trapped. According to authorities, roads have collapsed in some areas, with emergency services unable to get access.
