The Palau de Les Arts has announced a cast change for its production of “Dialogues des Carmelites.”

The company said that Carolina López Moreno will no longer perform the role of Blanche de la Force. As a result, Alexandra Marcellier will take over the role.

Marcellier has performed with the Opéra de Bordeaux, Opéra de Limoges, Opéra de Saint-Étienne, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Salzburg Festival, and Opéra de Marseille. In 2023, she was awarded the title of ‘Revelation: Opera Singer’ at the Victoires de la Musique Classique

The soprano will join a cast that includes Nicolas Cavallier, Valentin Thill, Doris Soffel, Sandra Hamaoui, Ambur Braid, and Michèle Losier. Riccardo Minassi conducts.

“Dialogues des Carmelites” is set to open on Jan. 23 and run through Feb. 2 in Robert Carsen’s production.
