Pacific Opera Project to Stream ‘COVID fan tutte’

By Logan Martell

On March 26, 2021, Pacific Opera Project will launch an encore presentation of its acclaimed “COVID fan tutte,” which ran last year in a drive-in format in Camarillo, California.

With a new English libretto by Artistic Director Josh Shaw, the work is set at a SoCal golf resort, and features three real-life couples who quarantined together to reduce the risk of infection: Jamie Chamberlin and Nathan Granner as Fiordigli and Ferrando, Christina Pezzarossi and Colin Ramsey as Dorabella and Guglielmo, and Ariel Pisturino and E. Scott Levin as Despina and Don Alfonso. They were led by Kyle Naig, who also provided harpsichord accompaniment.

“COVID fan tutte” will be available to watch for free on POP’s YouTube and Facebook pages free of charge.

Founded in 2011, Pacific Opera Project is committed to providing opera in innovative and accessible ways, reaching new audiences as they seek to re-invigorate the art-form.
