Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires Names New Music Director

The Orquesta Filarmónica de Buenos Aires has named Zoe Zeniodi as its new Music Director.

The orchestra said, “After these days of waiting, we can now share this great news. Zoe is a great conductor and it fills us with pride to have her with us. We receive with arms wide open. We are very happy and anxious for this new stage that begins with her.”

Zeniodi is a Greece conductor who has been the Artistic Director of El Sistema Greece and was the first woman conductor to ever perform with Opera Southwest and was been selected by the Dallas Opera for the residency of the Institute of Women Conductors in 2016 and a Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship Mentee. She has guest conducted at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Queensland, New Zealand Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Greek National Opera, and Onassis Cultural Center, among others.
