Oregon Symphony Connects to Audiences with Studio 125 Platform

On April 21, the Oregon Symphony launched Studio 125, a digital platform which features newly-released musical content, along with concerts and performances from the company’s archives.

The platform includes OS programs such as “Essential Sounds,” which honors essential workers of the pandemic; “Symphony Storytime,” which provides musical education to children and families; and “minute for music,” which features recordings from the homes and local venues of OS musicians programs comes in celebration of the company’s 125th anniversary.

Premiering alongside Studio 125 will be “Classical Sessions: Carlos@18.” This 12-episode series will showcase members of the symphony and honor the 18-year legacy of Musical Director Laureate Carlos Kalmar.

“Our digital programs have been created to meet our community where they are today,” said Scott Showalter, Oregon Symphony President and CEO in a press release. “Especially during this time, our audiences are asking for more digital content that showcases musical performances and addresses some of the key issues of our time. While nothing compares to the excitement and joy of attending in-person concerts, digital content offers a unique way to enjoy music from the Oregon Symphony.”
