Oregon Symphony Announces 2024-25 Season

The Oregon Symphony has announced its 2024-25 season, “The Nature of Music.”

This article features only the vocal works in the company’s season.

“Bach & Mendelssohn: Grace and Grandeur” features the Oregon Repertory Singers under the baton of David Danzmayr. They present Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2 “Lobgesang.” Soloists will be announced at a later date.

Performance Dates: February 22 – 24, 2025

Next up is Creative Chair and composer Gabriel Kahane’s new song cycle “Talent & Phoenix.” Through work written for vocal soloists and orchestra asks, “How is memory remade, and community rebuilt, when the buildings that housed our past are reduced to ash?” says Kahane. The work was written in response to the 2020 Almeda Fire.

Performance Dates: April 12 – 14, 2025

“Mahler 3: Nature Finds a Voice” features the Sopranos and Altos of Portland State University Choirs, Oregon Repertory Singers, and the Pacific Youth Choir. The mezzo-soprano soloist will be announced at a later time. David Danzmayr conducts.

Performance Dates: June 14- 16, 2025
