
Orchestre National Orchestra of Lille Names New General Director
By Francisco SalazarJean-Baptiste Henriat has been appointed as General Director of the Orchestre National Orchestra of Lille.
Henriat was unanimously selected by François Decoster and all the members of the Board of Directors. The board highlighted Henriat’s personal qualities and his profound knowledge of the music world.
In his new position the new General Director will work with Joshua Weilerstein, music director of the Lille National Orchestra, and Decoster, chairman of the board.
Henriat will also pay particular attention to developing programming that showcases both musical heritage and contemporary works in their various styles.
The new General Director combines a solid musical background and a strategic path in large cultural institutions, in particular at Radio France where he was Chief of Staff of the Directorate of Music and Creation and then Delegué Choir general.
