By David SalazarOrchestra of the Music Makers will present the Singapore premiere of Richard Wagner’s “Siegfried” on Sept. 5, 2026, at Esplanade Concert Hall.
The performance, part of the ensemble’s continuing exploration of Wagner’s “Ring” cycle, will be given in semi-staged form under conductor Lü Shao Chia, with Tan Shou Chen directing.
The cast is led by Vincent Wolfsteiner in the title role, alongside Dan Karlström as Mime, Michael Volle as the Wanderer, Anna Harvey as Erda, Joachim Goltz as Alberich, Lukasz Konieczny as Fafner, Victoria Li as the Woodbird, and Stéphanie Müther as Brünnhilde.
Ahead of the performance, the National Library Board will host a fireside chat with members of the production’s cast on August 24, 2026, at the National Library Building’s Central Arts Library. Moderated by Shridar Mani, the discussion is billed as an intimate look at the “Ring” cycle, the discipline required of a professional opera singer, and the demands of life on the operatic stage.
The talk is free and open to walk in attendees, with seating limited and offered on a first come, first served basis.
