The Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana has announced a cast change for its performance on Oct. 4, 2024 at the Settimane Musicali di Ascona.

The orchestra said, due to a sudden illness, soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller will unfortunately be unable to perform. Her place will be taken by a highly acclaimed Swiss artist, soprano Regula Mühlemann.

Mühlemann will perform Mahler’s Symphony No.4 under the direction of Markus Poschner. She has previously performed at the Settimane Musicali di Ascona where she debuted in 2021. This season the Swiss soprano is set to perform in Zurich, Vienna, Berlin, Monte0Carlo, Luxembourg, Dortmund, Lucerne, Hamburg, and Baden-Baden, among many other cities.

The Oct. 4 program will also include Wu Wei in Unsuk Chin’s Šu, concerto per Sheng e orchestra.
