OperaVision to Stream Sofia Opera’s ‘Attila’

OperaVision is set to present the Sofia Opera and Ballet’s “Atilla” production.

The opera will be streamed on March 19 in Plamen Kartaloff’s production at the historic Tsarevets fortress in Veliko Tarnovo.

The cast for the historic 2011 performance included bass Orlin Anastasov in the title role, Radostina Nikolaeva as Odabella, Ventseslav Anastasov as Ezio, Daniel Damyanov as Foresto, Dimitar Stanchev as Leone, and Plamen Papazikov as Uldino. Alessandro Sangiorgi conducted the performance.

The Sofia Opera’s performance of “Attila” is one OperaVision’s March presentations which will also include a Strauss concert, “Pelleas et Melisande,” “La Voix humaine,”  and “L’Heure espagnole.”

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals.
