OperaVision Announces July & August Streams

The first stream comes from the Dutch National Opera and will be a production of Beethoven’s “Fidelio.” Ukrainian stage director Andriy Zholdak’s production is conducted by Andrés Orozco-Estrada and stars Mark Kurmanbayev, Eric Cutler, James Creswell, Nicholas Brownlee, Jacquelyn Wagner, Anna El-Khashem, and Linard Vrielink.

The streaming platform presents two works from the Smetana Opera Cycle Ostrava 2024 from the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre. The first is “The Kiss.” František Zahradníček, Veronika Rovná, Martin Šrejma, Jiří Rajniš, Lucie Hilscherová, Marta Chila Reichelová, Josef Kovačič, Václav Morys, Stela Machová, and Nela Starková lead the cast, while Marek Šedivý conducts.

“The Two Widows” will feature Lada Bočková, Veronika Rovná, Martin Šrejma, Martin Gurbaľ, Václav Čížek, Karolína Levková, and Petr Urbánek. Marek Šedivý conducts.

Wagner’s “Die Walküre” will be directed by Amy Lane from the Longborough Music Director. The cast includes Mark Le Brocq, Emma Bell, Paul Carey Jones, Madeleine Shaw, Eleanor Dennis, and Julian Close. Anthony Negus conducts.

Rossini’s “Il viaggio a Reims” from the Pesaro Festival will feature emerging talent from the Accademia Rossiniana Alberto Zedda. Davide Levi conducts Emilio Sagi’s production.

Patrick Kabongo, Sophia Mchedlishvili, Diana Haller, Fabio Capitanucci, Nathanaël Tavernier, Camilla Carol Farias, and Yo Otahara lead Rossini’s “Le Comte Ory” from Rossini in Wildbad in the Black Forest. Antonino Fogliani conducts the production by Jochen Schönleber.

The series ends with Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” from the Royal Swedish Opera. Konu Kim, John Erik Eleby, Dara Savinova, Luthando Qave, and Kristian Flor star with Vincenzo Milletari conducting a production by Linus Fellbom.
