Operavision 2019 Preview: Puccini’s ‘La Bohème’ Arrives At Komische Oper Berlin

OperaVision will present a performance of Puccini’s most renowned opera “La Bohème” live from the Komische Oper Berlin on Jan. 27, 2019.

The opera’s cast will feature Nadja Mchantaf as Mimì, Vera-Lotte Böcker as Musetta, Gerard Schneider as Rodolfo, Günter Papendell as Marcello, Philipp Meierhöfer as Colline, and Dánierl Foki as Schaunard. Jordan de Souza conducts in a production by Barrie Kosky.

The stream kicks off at 7 p.m. local time. That’s around 1 p.m. EDT and 10 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until July 27, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals. OperaVision brings together 30 partners from 18 countries and invites you to travel and discover the diversity of opera from wherever you want, whenever you want.”

Next up on Operavision is a production of Handel’s “Xerxes” from the Deutsche Oper am Rhein.
