Opera Streaming to Present Verdi Requiem Starring María José Siri & Annalisa Stroppa

Opera Streaming is set to present a performance of Verdi’s Requiem from the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza on Sunday, May 16, 2021.

The showcase will star María José Siri, Annalisa Stroppa, Michele Pertusi, and Antonio Poli. The Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini will be conducted by Plácido Domingo.

The performance will be dedicated to victims of the pandemic and preceding audiences will see a video in their honor. The documentary was made by Blacklemon and directed by Andrea Pasquali. The performance will be available on Opera Streaming’s YouTube channel.

This is the latest of several streams via the OperaStreaming platform, which has presented performances from around Italy. At the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, the streaming service presented the first performance of Handel’s “Aci, Galatea e Polifemo” in modern times as well as productions of “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” and “Gianni Schicchi.”

The company has also streamed versions of “Don Carlo,” “La Cenerentola,” and Werther” from the Teatro Comunale di Modena.
