Opera Rara has announced the 2025 schedule

The first series of “Lives in Song” is hosted by Flora Willson and Roger Parker. Donizetti—Episode 2 will examine the music of Gaetano Donizetti and tell the story of his life through some of the songs he composed.

Opera Rara’s second Salon Series recital for emerging artists will feature baritone Lluís Calvet i Pey.

Opera Rara’s Artist Ambassador Michael Spyres and mezzo-soprano Marie-Nicole Lemieux join the impressive roster of artists featured in Opera Rara’s Donizetti Songs recording cycle. On Volume 3, Spyres performs with Artistic Director Carlo Rizzi; on Volume 4, Lemieux performs with pianist Giulio Zappa.

Michael Spyres, Marie-Nicole Lemieux and Giulio Zappa will perform at Cadogan Hall to celebrate the release of Volumes 3 and 4 of its Donizetti Song recording cycle.

Performance Date: March 10, 2025

The 1857 version of Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” will be released. Opera Rara, together with former Artistic Director Sir Mark Elder and the Hallé perform the work with Germán Enrique Alcántara, Eri Nakamura as Amelia, William Thomas, and Iván Ayón-Rivas as Gabriele Adorno.
