Opera Picciona to Present Mozart & Offenbach Double Bill

By David Salazar

New York-based Opera Picciona will present its inaugural production, a double bill of Mozart’s “Bastien und Bastienne” and Offenbach’s “Le 66,” on June 26 and 27, 2026 at the Fred and Adele Astaire Ballroom at Houghton Hall Arts Community.

The double bill of one-act operas will be stage directed by Opera Picciona co-founder Natan Zamansky with musical direction by Eric Peterson. “Bastien und Bastienne” will star soprano Melissa Perry, tenor Yong Hoon Lee, and baritone Keunwon Park.

“Le 66” will star soprano Angela Scorese, tenor Mark Martinez, and baritone Colin Safley.

Opera Picciona was founded by Manya Gaver-Holmes and Zamansky following a pilot production of “Dido and Aeneas” at St. John’s in the Village in January 2026. The company’s inaugural season will continue with W.S. Gilbert and Frederic Clay’s “Ages Ago” at Grace and St. Paul’s Church on October 23 and 24, 2026.xa
