
Opera Omaha to Present Patricia Racette’s Production of ‘Susannah’
By Francisco SalazarPatricia Racette is set to direct a new production of Floyd’s “Susannah” at Opera Omaha.
Racette is familiar with the work as she performed the opera’s title role at the age of 20 and has directed the opera at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. In a statement she said, “Carlisle Floyd’s ‘Susannah’ sits close to my heart. It draws me to my identity as an American, as a woman, as a member of society at large, as a singer, and now it extends its pull on me as a director.”
The new production will be conducted by Steven White and it will star Caitlin Lynch as Susannah, Andrew Potter as Olin Blitch, Robert Stahley as Sam, and Christian Sanders as Little Bat.
“Susannah” will be performed on jan. 30 and Feb. 1, 2026.
